By using Pendnote, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Pendnote is

Pendnote is an online service that lets you create "capsules" — encrypted messages that open only on a date you choose. The service works through online accounts, with free and paid tiers.

2. Accounts

You need an account to create capsules. You must:

  • Provide a valid email address
  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Keep your password secure
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

3. What you can upload

Your capsules can contain personal text, plans, thoughts, predictions. You may not use Pendnote for:

  • Illegal content (including abuse, threats, unauthorized copyrighted material)
  • Spam or phishing schemes
  • Malware or attempts to compromise the system
  • Personal data of others without their consent

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules.

4. Encryption and recovery

Capsules are encrypted with AES-256. For "Zero-Knowledge" capsules, the key is derived from your passphrase, which we don't know. If you lose the Zero-Knowledge passphrase, the content is unrecoverable — neither you nor we can read it again. No exceptions, not even at your request.

5. Payments

Premium and Lifetime plans are paid through Stripe or PayPal. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. The Lifetime payment is a one-time fee, non-refundable after 14 days. Payment processors apply their own terms.

6. Availability

We make every effort to keep the service available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. Scheduled maintenance will be announced. For data loss caused by technical failures, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

7. Intellectual property

The content of your capsules belongs to you. The Pendnote platform, code, design, and branding are our property.

8. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. After deletion, your capsules and associated data are removed within 30 days. Exception: data we are legally required to retain (e.g., invoices).

9. Changes to terms

We may update these terms. We'll announce important changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes means acceptance.
